Instructor of Information Assurance Management

Credentials:

Currently, I am the Instructor of Information Assurance Management @ Athens State University, where I started in January of 2016.  The Information Assurance degree program is fairly new at Athens State University and plans for revamping the program and curriculum are underway.  We have a great program that will prepare our graduates for the job on DAY 1.

A little background…

I have over 21 years working as a Systems Administrator and Information Assurance Manager (Cyber Governance).  I recently accepted the role of Professor of Information Assurance Management at Athens State University.  Prior to coming to work at Athens State, I was employed by the Department of the Army as an Army Civilian at the Army Missile Command (AMCOM – Redstone Arsenal, AL) as an information assurance manager for 6 years.  Primary role there was to certify tactical systems that would enter to battlefield overseas. I was responsible for seeing the product from start to finish with the Information Assurance to meet DoD Standards and regulations.

Prior to working at AMCOM as a DoD Civilian, I was a DoD contractor serving as a Systems Administrator working on Linux and Windows systems meeting the DoD regulations from the technical side of the Information Assurance Management certification of products.

Education:

I will start on the Ph.D. in Information Technology with an emphasis in Cybersecurity at the University of the Cumberlands.
